Naughty Dog Under ‘No Pressure’ to Make Another Uncharted: ‘We’re Moving On’
Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann said the studio has officially moved on from Uncharted and is focusing on the next chapter of The Last of Us through a new multiplayer game.
so Buzzfeed interviewDruckmann explained that Sony never put pressure on Naughty Dog to produce a sequel just because the game was a success, and that the publisher has been very supportive of the studio following its own passion.
“No, Uncharted has been very successful for us,” says Druckmann. “Uncharted 4 is one of the best-selling games he’s ever had, and with that story he’s put the final brush and stroke on it, we can say it’s done. We’re moving on.”
Druckmann didn’t elaborate on whether he was referring to Nathan Drake’s story, which ended with Uncharted 4, or the franchise as a whole. The mainline entries are 2016’s Uncharted 4 and 2017’s side story Lost Legacy.
Sony Pictures also released a film adaptation starring Tom Holland, which received mixed reviews but ultimately managed to make $401 million at the international box office.

Naughty Dog showed off new concept art for its multiplayer game earlier this month, hinting at more updates coming this year. Sales of The Last of Us Part 1 increased by 238% in the UK thanks to The Last of Us HBO TV version.
