The virtual pet creation website Neopets can be hacked and compromise up to 69 million accounts.
As reported by polygonData breaches were first reported by community sites Jelly Neo On July 20, official Neopets Twitter subsequently posted an announcement and warning (below) recommending that users change their passwords on Neopets and other websites that use the same login information.
“Neopets recently realized that customer data could have been stolen,” the post said. “The email address and password used to access your Neopets account may have been affected.”
In addition, “We will continue the investigation and update it as necessary. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation at this time.”

Immediately after the breach, the development team said it began an investigation with the help of a major forensic company, notified law enforcement agencies, and upgraded systems and data protection. The full picture of the breach is currently unknown, and the Neopets team has not yet confirmed whether the user’s credit card information has also been compromised.
