New Soulslike Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Gets a Demo

Nioh developer team Ninja has released a demo for the upcoming Soulslike Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, giving PlayStation 5 and Xbox series players an early try at the new game.

Publisher Koei Tecmo announced the news at the Tokyo Game Show, and industry insider Nivelle (below) confirmed that the demo is available for download worldwide.

The full game is also available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but the demo is limited to two next-gen consoles.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is set in a darker version of China’s Three Kingdoms period and promises to be just as challenging as other Souls games, especially Team Ninja’s two Nioh games.Producer Yasuda Fumihiko previously told IGN, “Wo Long has a larger scale than previous games set in Japan, and we were able to show a harsher and darker world.

“The same goes for difficulty. I have no doubt that this is going to be a very challenging and demanding game, but we’ve come up with a new way to approach that difficulty.”

First announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase in June, a new gameplay trailer showed more of the game in action in August. The game therefore looks quite far ahead, further evidenced by the demo released today, and is set to release in the second quarter of 2023.
