Nintendo Shutting Down Pokémon DP Sound Library After Just 3 Months

Nintendo will shut down its Pokemon Sound Library later this week, just three months after the service goes live.

As reported by Eurogamer, Pokemon DP Sound Library As of May 31, content creators will no longer be able to download and legally use Pokemon Diamond and Pearl sound effects and music.

This move was totally unexpected as Nintendo made a big publicity about the sound library released in February and released a single using only Pokemon music in collaboration with Japanese performers and DJ Aran Shirahama.

Although not confirmed to be relevant, the service went live shortly after Nintendo removed some videos from the video game music YouTube channel Gilva Sunner, prompting the owner to remove the channel altogether. Therefore, the Pokemon Sound Library was considered a viable, safe, and completely legal way for Nintendo fans to enjoy music that would otherwise be difficult to find.

The reason for the shutdown is not given. The sound library will only display a message that users can no longer stream or download sound after 2 am on May 31st.

Users who have already downloaded the file from the website can continue to use the file as long as they comply with the Sound Library Terms of Service, but it is unknown at this time if the file will change after the website is closed. ..

The sound library contains the 2006 version of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and 149 original tracks and sound effects, but does not include music updated from last year’s remake. Fans can continue to download these files until the service ends.

We asked the Pokemon Company for comment.
