No Man’s Sky’s New Singularity Update Is About AI Corruption

No Man’s Sky’s next big update is all about AI and robot rebellion.

The update is being released today for all formats and is called “Singularity”. This is his tenth major update to the long-running space exploration game.

The Singularity forms part of a much longer story that began with the Interceptor update and will unfold as the year progresses.

Players investigate a curious robot head delivering cryptic clues across the galaxy. The story is about AI corruption and robot rebellion, with Hello Games teasing “strong hints as to what happens to No Man’s Sky.”

“Throughout the five-week expedition, the entire community will work with Nada and Poro to tackle the cosmic anomaly, breathe new life into the galaxy, and work together to earn exciting rewards,” explained Hello Games.

“The expedition ends with the player forced to make choices with far-reaching consequences…”

The idea is that by the end of the season, the No Man’s Sky community will work together to discover clues that will lead to future updates and further story hints.

New rewards include the first new complete character customization set in years for No Man’s Sky.
