PlayStation To Skip Gamescom 2022

Sony has announced a decision to skip Gamescom 2022 and has added PlayStation to the list of publishers that will not appear in the popular annual convention in Cologne, Germany.

In a statement to a German publication Game WirtschaftSony has announced that it will not be attending Gamescom this year and has also confirmed that there are no PlayStation-based announcements during Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live live stream.

2022 best review game

Gamescom has long reigned as the most attended Game Expo in the world, but in 2019 it moved to a streaming-based event. This year we’re partially returning to the physical show, but it seems that many of the big game companies are choosing to pass. Up on occasion. Nintendo, Take-Two, and Activision Blizzard have already announced that they will not be attending the event, but Microsoft has not yet been voted on, but the company’s first-party lineup in 2022 is limited. That’s why it’s less likely.

Sure, the news that Sony skipped Gamescom isn’t entirely unexpected. PlayStation is known to skip many major game shows over the past few years as it has shifted its focus to a short-form State of Play stream that introduces the latest and future partnerships. A unique time first party game.

In its latest State of Play, the company has unveiled a remake of the long-awaited Resident Evil 4 and new trailers for the following titles such as FINAL FANTASY XVI and Street Fighter 6. The God of War Ragnaroku is due out again this year, so expect Sony to hit us in another stream relatively quickly.

Gamescom 2022 will be held from August 24th to 28th at the Koelnmesse Convention Center in Cologne, Germany.
