Updated 02/07/2023: Nintendo has revealed that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have now sold over 18 million units, with over 20 million sold to retailers.
as revealed in Nintendo’s latest earnings report, by the end of December 2022, 18.2 million customers had purchased copies of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This is his 8 million increase from his previously announced 10 million sold as of November 23rd.
In terms of unit sales to retailers, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet reached 20.61 million units, straight into the top 10 of Nintendo Switch’s best-selling games list. It is currently in 7th place, behind Super Mario Odyssey, Pokemon Sword and Shield, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Animal Crossing New Horizon, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. 52 million units.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will launch worldwide on November 18, 2022, and Nintendo’s sales for these games include both physical and digital versions.
The latest entry in the legendary Pokémon franchise is the second appearance in the mainline franchise after Pokémon Sword and Shield. For comparison, Sword and Shield sold over 6 million copies in its first week. This was the record for the fastest-selling Switch title at the time.
On Switch, since 2017, “Pocket Monsters Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! , Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
These sales figures were achieved despite the obvious technical issues plaguing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. That said, games surrounding these bugs seem to be something special.
