Pokemon TCG Lost Origins IGN Exclusive Preview

The Jade Zoroark V-Star in particular deserves a special mention. The card has performed well in local tournaments and has already proven itself in Japan. Its ticking curse attack does 50 damage per Pokemon with a damage counter, so the entire board with all 6 Pokemon taking damage reaches a whopping 300 damage. Even factoring in the -20 damage from Double Turbo Energy, which you’ll likely use to pay for , that’s enough damage to knock out popular 280 HP cards like Arceus V Star and Palkia V Star. Reaching that 280 damage threshold shouldn’t be too difficult, considering that Origin also includes new cards that help you sprinkle damage counters all over the board.

A mechanic that will definitely shake up the competitive scene is the return of the Lost Zone, where cards go to when they are permanently removed from the game. Removing cards from the game may not seem lucrative, but Lost Origin includes many new cards that can only be activated when a card is placed in the Lost Zone. For example, Rotom V’s Scrapshot attack allows you to place any number of Pokemon Tool cards from the Trash Pile into the Lost Zone, adding 40 damage and 40 more damage for each card placed in the Lost Zone. is a Pokémon attack that wins another trainer’s game!
