Skyrim Multiplayer Mod Passes 80,000 Downloads, But the Dev Team Is Moving Onto New Projects

Skyrim Together Reborn, a mod that adds co-op to Bethesda’s beloved RPG, has been downloaded over 80,000 times in three days.

However, despite its success, the development team behind the mod has officially moved to other projects, telling the community that it’s up to them to improve it.

The team shared the latest information on reddit following the release of Skyrim Together Reborn on July 8th. Despite some technical issues, these were expected and most players seemed to be able to play as intended. The only major issue is that some servers didn’t work, but a fix for this will be released shortly.

“We are excited about the future of Reborn,” the post read. “We’ve done most of the tedious work for you, as thousands of hours of work have already been put into the project. With mods open source, the community is now stepping up and Reborn needs to be further developed.

“The current development team is very tired and, frankly, is interested in branching and running other projects. Guide new developers, review code, and in some cases features and fixes. I’m here to implement. I need a break. “

It’s unclear what will happen to these other projects, but the team, as the name implies, is also working on the Fallout Together mod, which will help Fallout 4.

While Bethesda games have always had an enthusiastic remodeling community, Skyrim Together Reborn adds a whole new way to play for those who have been roaming Skyrim for over a decade since its release.

The Elder Scrolls VI seems to be a few years away, so it offers a lot of people a new way to play The Elder Scrolls. Todd Howard revealed last year that Bethesda’s new space RPG Starfield was prioritized over Skyrim’s sequel and that science fiction games were postponed until next year.
