The upcoming survival horror Sons of the Forest has been postponed until next year.

According to the developer end night gamethe upcoming sequel to The Forest has been postponed to allow the team to polish the game.

“Due to the scope of the new game Sons Of The Forest, it is difficult to pinpoint an exact release date and today has to be postponed one last time,” they said. Via Twitter“Given time to complete any finishing touches deemed necessary, it will be released on February 23, 2023 at a price of US$29.99.”

Sons of the Forest is a direct sequel to The Forest, a 2014 survival horror that follows the story of Eric LeBlanc, a plane crash survivor who is forced to fight cannibal monsters while searching for his son Timmy. It promises unsettling gameplay.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a sequel has been postponed.

Sons of the Forest has already been delayed three months from its original release date. It’s a shame because the recent trailer paints a very horrifying picture. With obvious inspiration from the likes of The Descent and Cannibal Holocaust, it’s a definite choice for horror fans around the world.

But we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can confirm that.

IGN’s review of The Forest gave it an 8.4/10, stating: It’s a harrowing survival ordeal that knows how to manipulate tension and create a sense of the real world with its complex inner workings and the mysteries I longed to discover. It’s I Am Legend and has meaningful story progression that isn’t too welcome. Ignore the warnings on the walls and the hazards hidden among the trees. If you want a unique and memorable survival horror experience, you absolutely must. “
