Specifically, the widely popular first-person shooter series “directly generated more than $800 million” in the US alone in 2021, the document states.

You can’t see it clearly during the day, but if you look closely you can see the numbers.

With the latest installment in the series, Modern Warfare II, becoming the fastest Call of Duty game to surpass $1 billion in sales in 2022, it’s no surprise how popular Call of Duty is. .

But that’s all that was revealed in the documents. We also know how much two of PlayStation’s first-party titles will cost. Specifically, documents revealed that Horizon Forbidden West had a production budget of $212 million and The Last of Us Part II had a budget of $220 million. More interestingly, according to Ryan, an internal Sony Interactive Entertainment survey found that nearly half of US-based PS5 users also own a Nintendo Switch, while less than 20 percent of PS5 owners in the same country. also owns an Xbox Series X or Series S. console.

The documents themselves were presented as evidence in an ongoing trial between the Federal Trade Commission and Microsoft regarding the tech giant’s planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard, but have since been withdrawn.
