Sony Is Worried Xbox Will Find Ways to Sabotage Call of Duty on PlayStation

Sony is concerned that Microsoft could interfere with the PlayStation version of Call of Duty if its acquisition of Activision Blizzard is approved.

As first reported by The Verge, Sony has filed a document with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority, saying that Microsoft can take various steps to make the Call of Duty franchise unattractive on PlayStation. This includes things like raising the price of the game, prioritizing development for the Xbox version, and releasing buggy builds of the game on PlayStation.

“Microsoft may release a PlayStation version of Call of Duty in which bugs or errors only appear after the game’s final level or subsequent updates. It will likely be too late, and by then the gaming community will have lost faith in PlayStation as the go-to place to play Call of Duty.” explained in the documentation.
