STALKER 2 Now Targeting the First Half of 2023, According to New Xbox Graphic

After suspending development due to the war in Ukraine, STALKER 2 seems to be currently set for release in 2023.

Following today’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Xbox tweeted graphics containing images of upcoming games. You will notice that STALKER 2 is listed below the 2023 side of the graphic. This seems to confirm that the game is delayed again. However, the game seems to be targeted for the first half of 2023, as Xbox aims to release all the games listed in the image in the next 12 months.

Earlier this year, STALKER 2 was postponed from April 2022 to December 2022. At the time, GSC Game World said this delay would help the team “realize their vision and achieve the desired state of the game.”

Immediately after this announcement, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine suspended the development of Kieu-based developers. At the time, GSC Game World said that “game development has shifted to bystanders,” and that it will continue “after the win.”

Then last month, there were reports that developers resumed working on the game, and there were rumors that some developers had relocated. This is the first time I’ve heard about the new release window for STALKER 2 since development was suspended.

STALKER didn’t exist in today’s Xbox showcase. Instead, the presentation focused primarily on Starfield and Redfall, bullying Hideo Kojima’s next project.
