STALKER Console Port Seemingly Leaked by Russian Fan in Revenge Over Ukraine Support

A leak of what appears to be a new console port for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl has been uploaded onto the internet by a Russian streamer. Developer GSC Game World seems upset by its approach to supporting the war in Ukraine.

new report from PC gamer It was revealed that it was uploaded by a Russian streamer who goes by two names: “Nevazhno, Kto” and “Velichaishii”. Revealing console port footage of the original STALKER game, first released on PC in 2007 and comes with a 5-page document. The document details how GSC Game World discriminated against Russian fans by encouraging them to donate to the Ukrainian Comeback Alive Foundation, so Nevazino leaked the footage. The foundation helps supply the Ukrainian army with defense equipment, and donations to the Ukrainian army are a crime in Russia, angering Nevazino.

Nevazhno’s main problem is that Ukrainian developer GSC failed to make its Russian supporters aware of the potential legal consequences of donating to the Come Back Alive Foundation. “This was an attempt to make a bargaining chip out of the Russians,” he wrote in a document seen by his PC Gamer. “The only time criminality was mentioned was when people started complaining to Roscomnadzor about this shit. [Russia’s media monitoring agency]”.

PC Gamer told GSC: Donations from Russia later. We consider ourselves in the absolute minority, if not the only ones to do so.

The document, which reportedly contains a number of other complaints, including Nevazhno’s belief that Russian players are being discriminated against on GSC’s Discord server, released footage of STALKER’s console port. The choice to do so seems to be rooted primarily in this issue of donations.

Nevazhno told PC Gamer he hopes the leak will put an end to the attack on GSC. “It doesn’t matter how you got it. The important thing is that I didn’t lie. This is not a fan mod… This leak was made out of a desire to do justice to all.” It was a cry from the soul.”

As for the leak itself, it looks pretty genuine, but there’s currently no confirmation from GSC about the authenticity of the video. The employee denied the leak occurred.

GSC is currently working on STALKER 2 despite the impact of the Russian invasion on staff. Originally scheduled for release this year, the war put development on hold and now he is scheduled for the first half of 2023.
