Team Fortress 2 Is Getting Its First Major Update in Years

After years of minor updates, Team Fortress 2 is set to get a major update this summer adding items, maps, taunts, Steam Workshop creator content, and more.

The Team Fortress 2 team has shared an update blog, Primarily addressed to creators on the Steam Workshop.

“Steam Workshop Creators, please be careful,” the blog reads. “Due to the extreme urgency and time constraints of our next message, we have made the management decision to skip TikTok and Twitter entirely and break the glass of the most advanced communication technology available. Welcome to the future, “Welcome to the blog…” title. ‘”

After an interesting intro, it was confirmed that “the past few Team Fortress summer events have been nothing but item updates,” but that there are bigger plans for this year.

“We plan to ship a full update size update — items, maps, taunts, anomalous effects, warpaints, and what else do you know?! That means you need Steam Workshop content! ‘s Steam Workshop content,” said the TF2 team.

Interested parties should submit their submissions to the Steam Workshop by May 1st. This makes it “No name or theme yet, but is considered very exciting for summer (but not summer-themed) (unless you want to develop something summer-themed) update.”

As mentioned earlier, Team Fortress 2 is get a small update Over the past few years, 2017 saw a big Jungle Inferno update, adding a new official map, five community maps, new taunts, war paints, contracts, and more.

However, Team Fortress 2 was addressing a bot issue that made the game unplayable in 2022, so the small update was significant.
