The Callisto Protocol Announces DLC That Will Serve as Story’s ‘Final Chapter’

The Callisto protocol will have a new DLC called Final Transmission. On PlayStation he will launch as a 48-hour timed exclusive on June 27th, followed by June 29th on all other platforms.

Striking Distance Studios posted a short teaser trailer in which main character Jacob Lee wakes up and encounters a large robot coming towards him. The studio called it “a heart-throbbing final chapter”, indicating that it could be the game’s only story DLC. However, non-story DLC may be added in the future.

The Callisto protocol has received many updates since its release last December. In February, the game added an official Hardcore mode and some Outer Way skins. March added new death animations and skins, as well as a perma-death mode. Last month, the game added a wave-based Riot mode that will force players to battle increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

Unfortunately, Callisto Protocol also reportedly had poor sales when it debuted. IGN’s review of The Callisto Protocol said, “Callisto Protocol is a satisfyingly gory spiritual successor to the Dead Space series, but it ultimately turns into a striking modern imitation rather than a terrifying new mutation. It’s close,” he said.
