The Last of Us Part 1 Is Getting Slammed on Steam Over PC Performance Issues

The Last of Us Part 1 is finally available on PC. vapor We blamed the PC version of PlayStation Classic for performance issues and crashes.

In fact, there are now “mostly negative” reviews. One review said it “crashes every 20 minutes”. “The game is poorly optimized. The game looks great and needs further optimization.” I’m here.

“The Last of Us Part 1 PC Players: We have heard your concerns and our team is actively investigating the multiple issues you have reported. Our team is prioritizing updates and will address the issue in a future patch.”

So far, out of 6,015 user reviews for The Last of Us, only 33% reported having a positive experience, a staggering 67%.

“I waited about 2.5 hours for the game to build shaders while crashing on the main menu every 5 minutes. [it’s] One of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with a game,” said another reviewer. “Let’s be clear, if the game didn’t crash every five minutes for him in the main menu, it would have taken half the time to build the shaders and actually start playing.”

One of the main issues is that shader compilation takes a long time, especially on PCs that just meet the game’s requirements. That said, users seem to have issues overall, complaining that the game isn’t optimized.

One user reported 14 major crashes in 4.8 hours of playtime. The Last of Us was ported to PC by Iron Galax, the same company that brought Metroid Prime Remastered and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on Nintendo Switch.
