The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Gets May Release Date

Lord of the Rings: Gollum launches on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on May 25, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for later this year.

The gameplay features a blend of stealth and action as Gollum stalks Middle-earth. In this game, the player must make a choice to suit either Gollum, the character’s darker side, or his gentler half known as Smeagol. It has stated that it is directly inspired by JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, rather than the film adaptation of the book.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum was first announced in 2019 for a 2021 release date. He stated that he would search for events up until the start of the event to be held.

The game is facing some delays towards its new release date in May. IGN saw the game last year and we weren’t overly impressed with his hands-off presentation. It will be shown in more cinemas than in 2022. ”

Gollum’s release date comes in time for a packed AAA release with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter 6, Diablo IV and Final Fantasy XVI all coming in the next few weeks. It’s just part of a larger Lord of the Rings renaissance with Prime’s Rings of Power, new movies in the works and, of course, the incredible LEGO Rivendell sets.
