The Nintendo Switch Isn’t Getting a Price Cut Anytime Soon

According to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo has no plans to lower the price of the Switch console until April 2024 at the earliest.

“At this time, we have no plans to reduce hardware prices later this year.” he said during the Q&A session With investors following the release of the entertainment giant’s latest earnings report.

Nintendo’s president acknowledged that the price of certain production materials had fallen, but said it would take time for this to be reflected in manufacturing costs, and that overall Switch manufacturing costs “still remain high.”

A recent financial report revealed that Switch sales fell for the second year in a row, but sales forecasts for the next fiscal year show a further 15% year-over-year decline.
