Video Game Cover Artist Recreates Iconic Final Fantasy 14 Track… With 1,000 Singers

A group of more than 1,400 singers gathered to sing the iconic FINAL FANTASY XIV Close in the Distance track, led by video game cover artist Alex Moukala.

The song’s arrangement, shared on his Twitter account, was arranged by Moukala and cover artist Husky by the Geek, with special guests such as Final Fantasy vocal artists Susan Calloway, Amanda Achen and Paolo Andrea di Pietro. Many are included.

YouTuber (and musicians) Studio Nicktendo, Enochian Tori and Lollia Rose are also participating. The really striking part is nearing the end of the song, but an additional 1,400 members of the FINAL FANTASY 14 community are on screen, all singing together.

“I can’t really emphasize how much difference you made here,” Mukara said in a follow-up tweet. “The 1,000 you who sent us beautiful submissions and the wonderful soloists who helped us out for this love letter.”

In gratitude to each other’s contributors, Mukara added:

Although he is best known online Legendary 30 Wii Jam Session, Mukara is an orchestra composer, whose music has appeared in several movie trailers, including The Avengers: Endgame. He recently covered the main theme of Elden Ring in 15 different styles, from Spanish guitars to traps to traditional Japanese guitars.

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer and I sometimes remember tweeting @thelastdinsdale. He talks about Witcher all day long.
