What to Expect From Star Wars Celebration 2023

Fans in a galaxy far, far away are gearing up for one of the most exciting weekends of the year. Star Wars Celebration 2023 Coming soon.

Taking place April 7-10 at ExCeL in London, Lucasfilm will have the biggest reveals of the year for Star Wars movies, TV shows, games, books, comics and more of all kinds.

Expect to see more Star Wars projects than ever before this weekend thanks to the ever-growing galaxy. are shown below.

2025 movie

It’s certainly time for Disney and Lucasfilm to announce the next Star Wars movie. It’s already been more than three years since The Rise of Skywalker, and the franchise has spread across nearly every possible media format. But Star Wars is a movie franchise at its core. We already know his next film will be out on December 19, 2025, but we don’t know which of several unnamed projects it will be.

Taika Waititi’s film is one of the frontrunners, but even its development has been rocky. It’s been confirmed to be in development almost three years ago and is set to cover characters far from everyone we already know. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said last May that she hoped the film would premiere before the end of 2023 (which is now virtually impossible), but just a month away. Later, Waititi himself stated that he didn’t even know if it would be made.

That said, Disney has sorted out a vague list of upcoming Star Wars projects, as reports surfaced last month that both Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins’ films were scrapped. Not mentioned here. That means we’re probably still moving forward.

Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof and co-writer Justin Britt-Gibson have reportedly left an untitled project directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, so there are other changes going on behind the scenes as well. . Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will reportedly be writing the script instead, and sources say the full reveal will take place at Celebration.

Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen, especially since these changes are being made at the last minute, but we’re not sure if Disney and Lucasfilm have any specifics about the 2025 Star Wars movie, even if it’s just a title. I would like to make an announcement.

Ahsoka Disney+ series trailer and release date

Since starring in The Clone Wars and appearing in several other series, including Rebels and The Mandalorian, Ahsoka finally got a Star Wars show about her.

First announced in December 2020, Ahsoka has been teased, teased, and teased so much that she finally has a concrete premiere date and trailer at Star Wars Celebration.

With 2023 already confirmed, and with a clear gap in the adult Star Wars TV schedule after The Mandalorian season 3 ends in late April, Ahsoka is the perfect candidate to take over the mantle.

skeleton crewies

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which was just announced at last year’s Celebration, is also set to premiere in 2023. Starring Jude Law and known to be created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford in Spider-Man: No Way Home, kids trying to find their way home around the same time as The Mandalorian It is centered around the group of

But other than that, Disney said very little. We learned from various sources that it was a wrapped shoot and that there was an episode directed by Everything Everywhere’s Daniels Duo, but that’s really it.

There’s no doubt that the Skeleton Crew will make an appearance at Star Wars Celebration, but it may be a show description and teaser trailer rather than a full-blown premiere date like Ahsoka’s.

tv show mavis

The Skeleton Crew seems to have been quickly tracked by Disney, but the same cannot be said for some of the other floating Star Wars shows. Acolyte was silent for some time.

Lando was first announced over two years ago in 2020 and we haven’t heard anything since. And we hope to find out more soon.

Acolyte was released a little later in January 2021 as the first live-action show set in the High Republic era. It tells a brand new story from nearly 200 years before the story of Skywalker at its height.

Knights of Eclipse or the Old Republic remake update

Let’s move on to the game that Star Wars fans are very excited about. We don’t want to get our hopes up too high (Disney knows he’ll likely put big game announcements on hold for the E3 season), but at least he’s got one major video game update coming out of Celebration. I think it will come.

Eclipse, a High Republic game from Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream, and the Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) Remake, which brings fan favorites from 2003 into the modern (and Canon) era, have both been quiet for a while. was. After their formula revealed.

The former will go live in late 2021, and aside from a few minor comments from the development team, there have been no official updates since.

The KOTOR remake, on the other hand, was a bit messy, with development reportedly switching studios following disappointing presentations to Lucasfilm and Sony.

So an update to either of these games would be very welcome to fans. A short teaser can go a long way.
