Xbox and Bethesda Attending Gamescom 2023

Xbox and Bethesda have officially confirmed their participation at Gamescom 2023, and fans attending the event may get the chance to play Starfield ahead of its September 6th launch.

Gamescom itself announced the news in a tweet (below). “Breaking news. Xbox and Bethesda will also be on the show floor at Gamescom 2023,” it read. “Details coming soon.”

Xbox is a regular exhibitor at German conventions, and has been present every year when PlayStation is not. Sony has not yet confirmed whether it will participate in the 2023 show.

The last time Sony exhibited was in 2019, choosing not to exhibit at a digital-only exhibition due to the effects of COVID-19 and subsequent events. Nintendo did as well, but announced in April that it would be returning to Gamescom in 2023.

In 2022, over 250,000 visitors returned to the physical exhibition grounds in Cologne, Germany. This year’s event runs from his August 23rd to 27th. However, Opening His Night’s live launch event will begin slightly earlier in the show, taking place the night before on August 22nd.

Last year’s Opening Night Live featured the announcement of Lies of P, the announcement of a new release date for Gotham Knights, the reintroduction of Dead Island 2, and more.
