Xbox’s Grounded Is Getting Its Own Animated Series

Grounded is on the ever-growing list of video games adapted to television and movies. deadline Reporting a Grounded anime series of works by developers Obsidian Entertainment, Xbox, Waterproof Studios / SC Productions, Kinetic Media, and Bardel Entertainment.

Developed by Obsidian, Grounded is an online collaborative multiplayer game focused on children reduced to insect size. Children must work together to survive all the horrors found in the backyard, including spiders, ants and other creatures. The game has been in Early Access for years and will finally be released in September of this year with a 1.0 release.

According to reports, the series is in the same universe as the game, after four friends discovered a reduction technique that would make them two inches tall. While fighting to survive the backyard, they also reveal a bold plot threatening their hometown.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars writer Brent Friedman comes with adaptation. It will be directed by Brien Goodrich, who previously worked on the Halo video game series.

Grounded shows another adaptation of Xbox properties and joins something like this year’s Halo TV show. This has already been updated in the second season. We know that other properties owned by Microsoft are suitable for work with Minecraft, Fallout, etc.

Beyond the properties of Xbox, HBO is developing the Last of Us TV series, and the Horizon series is being produced on Netflix. For more information, you can see a list of all upcoming video game movies and TV shows.
