Xbox’s Larry Hryb, Better Known as Major Nelson, Steps Down After 20 Years

Larry Lifv, better known as Major Nelson, has announced that he is retiring from Xbox after more than 20 years at Microsoft.

He announced his departure on Twitter, writing, “After 20 incredible years, I have decided to take a step back and work on the next chapter of my career. I would like to thank the millions of gamers around the world for accepting me as a part of their lives.”

He continued, “I would also like to thank my Xbox team members for trusting me to interact directly with their customers. The future of Xbox is bright and I am excited to see it evolve as a gamer.”

Hryb also noted that the official Xbox podcast was paused over the summer and will resume later in a new format.
