Yoko Taro Lost His Emil Mask and His Replacement Is a Bit Terrifying and Quite Possibly Cursed
Yoko Taro, director of games such as Nier: Automata and Drakengard, has revealed that he has lost his iconic mask modeled after Nier’s Emil, which he wears in public. As if that wasn’t tragic enough, the replacement leprechaun mask he’s chosen for the time being might actually be a little frightening and possibly cursed.
according to reports Kotaku, Taro was attending Anime Expo 2023 in Los Angeles to host a panel discussion on the new anime “Kamierabi Kami.app”, but the night before the panel, he lost his mask when he went drinking. have done.
Taro claims that Fuji Television’s producer, who had a drink with him, was responsible for the loss of the Emile mask. So Taro asked the producer to find a new mask, but it was a difficult task.
Some time later, they stumbled across the large Leprechaun mask seen below at a costume store in Los Angeles.
I met Mr. Kodaka from Danron Gampa.

“Of course LA? Told.
He added that the masks appeared to have been “a farewell gift from the owner’s grandmother to the store.”
“I thought, ‘Oh, what a pity,’ but it was the best mask out there. It was just the best fit. So I persuaded them to buy it,” Taro said. .
However, the story doesn’t end with the $120 mask, which Taro believes is probably cursed or possessed by “the spirit of the store owner’s grandmother or cousin who supposedly died in 1945.” I think it was cheaper than it should have been.
