Zelda: Breath of the Wild Split-Screen Mod Will Launch This Week

Breath of the Wild is one of the best games ever, but wouldn’t it be better if you could play it together? No, I’m not talking about Linked Together, I’m talking about real split-screen multiplayer.

Now, thanks to one modder, the dream of playing Breath of the Wild with a friend has come true.

First discovered EurogamerNew mod developed by Kirbimimi Introducing split-screen gameplay to the world of Breath of the Wild. The mod will be released in beta on Friday, July 29th.

Watch the split-screen Breath of the Wild gameplay for over 8 minutes YouTube, This shows a pair of links exploring Hyrule Castle, fighting enemies, and finally taking on the final boss. The two links can even harm each other! Of course, this version of Breath of the Wild isn’t running on Nintendo’s official hardware, so don’t expect to roam the high rules with your Switch friends.

In late 2021, content creator PointCrow rewarded the first person to create a working Breath of the Wild multiplayer mod for $ 10,000. However, the reward had some strict requirements, such as allowing PointCrow exclusive access to the mod for a week or two. This did not happen with the Kirbymimi mod.

NieR: Zelda Automata: Breath of the Wild Conversion Mod

The Breath of the Wild mods community has basically been active since the game was released in 2017. Our favorite mods include turning the game into 2B starring the NieR: Automata hybrid, and swapping links with fans. Favorite Waruji.
