Zelda Tears of the Kingdom PSA: You Can Beat the Game Almost Immediately

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as soon as the player completes the early Great Plateau tutorial era, grab a paraglider and sprint straight towards the final boss of the game, finishing the game in less than an hour I was able to. Based on how much time I’ve played the game so far, it seems like the sequel Tears of the Kingdom will have a similar path, albeit with important differences from its predecessor.

caveat: Spoilers for Tears of the Kingdom are below. Scroll down below the video at your own risk.

Much like Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom lets you complete a sort of “tutorial” for the game on Ozorajima and go directly to the end of the game. However, there is a crucial difference from Breath of the Wild. In Breath of the Wild, you were given the quest “Defeat Ganon” and told you exactly where to go and what to do to trigger the ending. However, Tears of Kingdom does not offer such quests. You should already know where the end of the game is, head there without any in-game guidance, and know what to do once you get there.

The end of Tears of the Kingdom is only really accessible if you complete the very fast main quest to get the paraglider. But where you’re going and what you’re doing is actually a massive spoiler, one too big for an article like this to mention. If you really, really want to skip to the end right away, check out our guide on how to do that. But be warned, this is actually a pretty big spoiler. Once you know, there is no going back.

More Tears of the Kingdom content is planned for the next few days. In the meantime, read our Tears of the Kingdom review. We call it “a tremendous follow-up to one of the greatest games ever made, with some improvements in almost every way.” To get started, check out our wiki guide for everything you need to know about traveling through Hyrule.
