Alan Wake 2 Will be Digital-Only to Keep Price Below $70

Remedy Entertainment has revealed that Alan Wake 2 will be released exclusively digitally on all platforms.

Remedy went on to say that not releasing a disc would keep the game’s price down to $60 on consoles and $50 on PC. The studio didn’t want to have to ship the disc and download the game because it’s not a great experience. We also have no plans to produce physical copies of Alan Wake at this time.

The standard version of the game keeps the price low, so the Digital Deluxe Edition will cost you $70. This includes the Expansion Pass which includes the Night Springs and Lake House expansions, the Congress Shotgun Skin and Celebrity Suit for Alan, the Nordic Shotgun Skin for Saga, the Crimson Windbreaker, and the Lantern His Charm.

Those who pre-order the game will receive an ornate revolver skin for Alan and a survival resource pack for the saga.

It’s interesting to note that some publishers are refusing to raise prices for their new titles, as Nintendo and Microsoft did with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Redfall, respectively. However, these two games were also available on physical disc.

Alan Wake 2 launches on October 17th for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
