Among Us VR Gets November Release Date

Among Us VR, a virtual reality port of the 2018 online social game, launches on November 10th and costs $9.99.

First announced at the 2021 Game Awards, Among Us VR lets you play with up to 10 players. You take on the role of a crew member or impostor. The former attempts to complete all tasks on the map, while players posing as impostors attempt to kill all crew members without being detected.

Among Us is already a fun game, but the VR port adds a new level of suspense and chaos that offers a fresh perspective for longtime players. A gameplay trailer released in April shows the game transitioning to a first-person perspective. Adding to the level of confusion is the inclusion of a hand that can be used to swing around during a run or physically point the finger at individuals believed to be impostors in the group.

A review of the non-VR version said Among Us “successfully transferred the devious gameplay of the cloak and dagger PvP game to video game format.”

Along with the Meta Quest 2 version, Among Us VR will also be available on Steam VR.a A PlayStation VR2 port is also in development and will be available [PSVR2] Currently, PSVR2 is slated for release next year.

In addition to Among Us VR’s release date and price, today’s Meta Connect keynote also shared details of new studios acquired by Meta, including RE4 VR developer Armature Studio. Check out our recap that summarizes everything.
