Blizzard Dev Wrote This Wholesome Diablo 4 Item Text to ‘Help Someone Remember Things Will Get Better’

A Blizzard dev explained the flavor text for Diablo 4 items that players are praising for helping brighten their day.

Redditor Wholesome_Meow posted an image Highlighting the Conclave’s talisman mark, the recently engraved description reads: A series of steps. You may stumble some days, but if you keep putting one foot in front of the other, you’ll get there. “

The post, which currently has over 1,000 upvotes on the Diablo 4 subreddit, generated a lot of positive reactions from people within the community, and it didn’t take long for the flavor text’s author to take notice.

In response to Wholesome_Meow’s post, Senior Quest Designer Harrison Pink said: twitter To explain the idea behind the text, say, “This flavor text was written for this person. I wrote it for me, and I wrote it for you.” I wrote this article against the hope that someone might remind me that things could get better.”

The Mark of the Conclave is a reward for completing a side quest called A Series of Steps. It revolves around a witch doctor called Taissa who helps NPCs deal with their grief after losing their son. In a subsequent tweet, Pink explained the thinking behind the quest.

“I created this quest to overcome grief and trauma, and even though you can’t force yourself to heal or kill demons all the time, by accepting yourself as you are, you can continue to heal and move forward. It’s about being able to keep doing it,” Pink revealed.

Across social media, Diablo fans thanked Pink for her quest and item descriptions, and many praised the positive feelings Pink created. “I’m always hesitant about being emotionally vulnerable online, but I think it’s important in this case.” Pink replied to 1 user.
