Code: To Jin Yong Is an Open World Unreal Engine 5 Game About Chinese Martial Arts

Tencent Games has announced Code: ToJinYong, an open-world martial arts game set in ancient China.

Code: To Jin Yong was developed on Unreal Engine 5 by Lightspeed Studios (PUBG Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile), the first AAA game from the studio. It is based on the novel by legendary Chinese writer Jin Yong.

A two-minute trailer was unveiled at Tencent’s 2022 Game Conference (below), showing a fast-paced, desperate sword battle between the two characters.

Combat also includes some sort of magic, where the protagonist swings the wind and the enemy appears to be (literally) throwing his hand.

Tencent is his martial arts (set in ancient China), where Code: To Jin Yong is a tribute to the late author, incredibly popular, and has already produced countless film, television, and game adaptations. I promised to bring the novel of the martial arts novel) to life.

This is the first modern game set in the world of Jin Yong, but it seems to be the first game targeted at English-speaking viewers. The trailer reveals that this footage isn’t final, and the platform of the game is currently unknown, but the release window display wasn’t provided by Tencent.

Shenzhen-based publishers in China have been increasingly into the gaming industry in recent years, acquiring developers such as Riot Games and Turtle Rock Studios.
