Dead Space: Scene and Graphic Comparison – IGN First

The first attraction of video game remakes is the ability to recreate old classics with modern, glossy graphics. And that’s what you get with Dead Space. One of the remake’s many features is that it’s been built from the ground up in EA’s latest Frostbite engine, giving it the crisp, glossy look you’d expect.

It’s easy to remember the original with rose-tinted glasses, so I made the comparison video you can see above to show how the two games look different. As a game it still looks very good, but it’s clear what a dramatic update the remake will bring. This is thanks not only to the high resolution models and textures, but also to the beautiful lighting and dynamic fog he effects.

In addition to the visuals, the Dead Space remake changes several other elements as well. scripting, and how other gameplay tweaks can change the experience.

For more on Dead Space, check out the first 18 minutes of the remake in the video above. Stay tuned to IGN for an in-depth interview with the developer on improvements and changes in the remake.
