Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Adds The Hulk, Geralt, Doom Slayer, and Next-Gen Unreal Engine 5 Features

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is officially here, promising next-gen graphics and feature additions for Hulk, The Witcher Geralt of Rivia, Doom Slayer, and powered by Unreal Engine 5.1.

Fortnite’s latest chapter takes players into a whole new realm and, in addition to the previously mentioned additions, also brings dirt bikes, the ability to roll snowballs, and a way to take to the skies and hit enemies with the Shockwave Hammer. , a new hurdle mechanic, reality augments and more.

Players are looking forward to new outfits available in the Item Shop and Battle Pass. Hulk will join the Item Shop at a later date, while other characters will be part of the Battle Pass and unlocked as the season progresses.

The Doom Slayer and Geralt of Rivia may be the highlights of the Battle Pass, but players can also unlock the Stars of the Show: Selene, Masai, Dusty, Nezumi, Healthy, and Ageless. The Chapter 4 Season 1 launch trailer suggests that My Hero Academia’s Deku will also be joining the fight soon.

New Next-Gen Unreal Engine 5.1 Features “It delivers a generational leap in visual fidelity, bringing an unprecedented level of detail to game worlds like Battle Royale Island.” This is done in-game using Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps, and Temporal Super Resolution.

Nanite provides “highly detailed architectural geometry”, Lumen provides “high-quality ray-traced reflections on glossy materials and water”, and Virtual Shadow Maps provides “highly detailed shadowing”. Temporal Super Resolution (TSR) allows for “high quality visuals at high frame rates.”

Reality Augments are another way gameplay changes, and at certain intervals in every game, players can randomly choose between two of these boons. The longer you survive, the more Reality Augments you earn, and they last until the end.

Chapter 4 Season 1 kicks off with 22 Reality Augments, with more to come. Already revealed enhancements include:

  • light fingers: Weapons using Light Ammo reload faster.
  • Mechanical Archer: Grants mechanical explosive blow and mechanical shockwave bow.
  • Aerialist: Allows glider redeployment for the rest of the match.
  • Supercharging: Vehicles consume no fuel and have increased health.
  • Soaring Sprint: While sprinting, you can jump much higher and with low gravity.
