GTA 6 Will Reportedly Feature a First Female Playable Character, and Add New Cities Over Time

Grand Theft Auto 6 reportedly features female playable characters for the first time in the campaign. Rockstar seems to be planning to start the game in a single city, but will add more locations over time through updates.

As part of a report on Rockstar Bloomberg, Sources close to the studio discussed a new female character to become Latina. The character will reportedly be part of a pair of bank robbers in a story influenced by real-life criminals Bonnie and Clyde.

The female protagonist was previously only available as a custom character in GTA Online, not in the game’s single-player campaign. Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser (who later left the company) had previously shown that the company was thinking about women’s leads until 2013. [Update: The first Grand Theft Auto game featured female playable characters – this would mark the first in the 3D GTA series as we know it today]

The report also shows that the launch version of GTA 6 will begin in the fictional Miami and surrounding areas (perhaps a return to Vice City), but will be updated with “regularly new missions and cities.” Its release version seems to already contain more internal locations than any previous GTA game.

According to the report, the game is codenamed Project Americas because of its original plan to include a vast territory based in the Americas (a plan that was partially obsolete to reduce the burden on employees).

According to sources, game developers are skeptical of forecasting launches from April 2023 to March 2024 due to multiple changes in the team and production bottlenecks. Some developers are even said to have quit due to the lack of recent game progress. The team’s developers reportedly expect the game to be at least two years away, and haven’t set an in-house fixed release date.

However, many of the reports have been progressive rock stars in recent years, including more comprehensive office culture, crunch reduction, elimination of abusive managers, conversion of contractors to full-time employees, and restructuring to improve working conditions. Focus on changes. .. As a result, morale is said to be higher in the company, and according to one source, Rockstar “turned the boys’ club into a real company.”

The report also points to the company’s more progressive thinking in terms of narrative. According to Bloomberg, after police killed George Floyd in 2020, a mode called Cops’n’ Crooks was shelved before its release and hasn’t been considered for release since. The company is also focused on reducing jokes in GTA that “punch down” in marginalized groups.

After years of rumors, GTA 6 was finally confirmed this year, but more official news will be released only when the rock star is ready, not when the owner Take-Two requested it. It’s a schedule. Rockstar is said to have recently moved more developers to GTA 6 by abolishing the remastering of Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4.
