ID@Xbox: Everything Shown Off at Xbox’s Indie Showcase

Microsoft hosted its latest ID@Xbox Showcase showcasing the many indie games coming to the Xbox platform. This doesn’t mean all these games will be console exclusives, but Xbox wanted to focus on a handful of great indie titles that fans can look forward to in the future.

If you miss the showcase, don’t worry. Here’s a roundup of all the games that appeared at the event. In addition, there are five matches that stand out.

stray souls

Announced in 2021, Stray Souls, an upcoming indie horror game from Jukai Studio, is one of the few games to use Unreal Engine 5. Stray Souls follows Daniel, a teenager who recently inherited a house from his grandmother. As my colleague Ryan McCaffrey put it in an article a few months ago, this “real estate dream turns into a nightmare as soon as the sun goes down, and all hell begins to unleash inside your home.” .

Stray Souls is scheduled for release this fall.

Axiom Verge 2

ID@Xbox today confirmed that Axiom Verge 2 is coming to Xbox and will be available starting today. In his Axiom Verge 2 review about two years ago, my colleague Tristan Ogilvie gave it a 7 out of 10 and said: “Axiom Verge 2 is a fascinating two-dimensional Metroidvania to explore, albeit one-dimensional combat and overwhelming boss battles.”

texas chainsaw massacre

Gun Interactive, the creators of Friday the 13th games, are creating another asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series of movies. The gameplay will be familiar to anyone who has played Friday the 13th: The Game or Dead by Daylight.

In today’s showcase, we’re revisiting the horror game ahead of its August 18th release date. And Xbox fans will be happy to know that it’s available from day one with Xbox Game Pass.

Hellboy Web of Wild

Announced at the 2022 Game Awards, Hellboy Web of Wyrd is a new roguelike developed by Upstream Arcade. Today’s showcase gave Hellboy fans a new trailer and gameplay details.

Misforce

MythForce is a one-line multiplayer co-op game coming September 12th on Xbox, PC, PlayStation and Switch. His latest ID@Xbox-provided trailer not only revealed the release date, but also showed off MythForce’s art style. Turn off Saturday morning cartoon vibes.
