New Super Mario Galaxy 2 World Speedrunning Record Set at AGDQ

A new speedrunning world record has been set in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Twitch streamer girlfriend Jhay beat his own record by just over four seconds.

A new record was set during Great Game Completed Quick StreamAt , Jhay took on Mutantsabyss, Hardcoregaming and Supervipert302 in speedrunning races. Jhay’s Any% with Bank run — a reference to Bank Toad required to unlock the final galaxy in the game — he completed in 2:54:51.33. This was him 4.4 seconds faster than him. Record before 2:54:55.

Jhay tweeted in all caps to celebrate the new record.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of many speedrunning events taking place at Awesome Games Done Quick on Twitch all this week. Other notable events include running The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and other popular games.

Awesome Games Done Quick runs through Saturday, January 14th, with all proceeds from viewer donations going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
