Red Dead Online Won’t Get Major Themed Update As More Resources Shifted To GTA 6

Rockstar, the developer of Red Dead Redemption 2, is using resources to develop Grand Theft Auto 6 and will not bring any further major theme updates to Red Dead Online.

According to Rockstar, the game will be updated with seasonal special events, built on existing modes, and new Telegram missions will be added to maintain a healthy online environment. Support is not completely reduced.

“Over the last few years, we’ve steadily moved a lot of our development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series-more than ever before, understanding the need to exceed player expectations, and this next entry. To be the best possible-as a result, we are making some changes to the way Red Dead Online is supported, “Rockstar said.

Rockstar cites the new Telegram missions coming to RDO this year as what players are looking forward to, in addition to existing content such as specialist roles and story-based collaborative missions. But in the end, Grand Theft Auto 6 needs resources.

“We are very grateful for all the constructive feedback we have received and look forward to your continued support. This direct feedback from our players contributes to the continued success of both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. This is an integral part of what helps us evolve and continue to improve as we move forward into the future. “

These thematic updates are larger expansion packs released by Rockstar for Red Dead Online, including Frontier Pursuits, Bounty Hunters, and more recently Blood Money.

The developers just confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 was in “active development” in February of this year, and said future news would be shared on their own schedule. Earlier this week, it was reported that Rockstar had shelved a GTA 4 remake and the original Red Dead Redemption to refocus on new entries.
