Sons of the Forest: Kelvin’s Weirdo Behavior Has Already Made Him Beloved by Fans

Sons of the Forest has officially entered Early Access, and one of the game’s biggest buzz has been Kelvin. Kelvin is an AI companion already well-loved by the community, whose mission is to help you on your journey. Hilarious decision.

For those unfamiliar, Kelvin is an elite soldier who survived a helicopter crash stranded on an island in Sons of the Forest. Unfortunately for him, he has suffered brain damage and can no longer hear or speak, so the player must communicate with him via Notepad. continues to be very helpful… well, mostly.

The developers of Sons of the Forest created Kelvin to recreate the multiplayer experience for solo players, but it’s also very useful for those who want to play Sons of the Forest with friends.

Endnight Games told IGN: “We wanted to solve this and bridge the gap between the two modes. At the same time, the new AI system we created for enemies/animals makes it very easy to apply to friendly AI characters. .”

So this all sounds great. Who can help you chop down trees or catch fish? Kelvin is definitely helpful, but sometimes acts a little weird. For example, you can tell him to chop down trees and gather wood, but some players have found that Kelvin doesn’t know the difference between a freestanding tree and a freestanding tree. Part of the tree house you built.

He also tends to appear out of nowhere, with Reddit user /goodwill295 Jokingly called him the biggest jumpscare in the game.

Kelvin clearly plays by his own rules, and as IGN’s Mark Medina puts it, “Man with no rules, we’re lost!”, it fits perfectly in Sons of the Forest .

Sure, he might be in his own moment, but the Sons of the Forest community clearly wants to protect Kelvin with their lives.

Endnight Games has big plans for Kelvin, so this is just the beginning of our early favorites for best helpers in video games in 2023.

“Throughout early access, we plan to add more tasks for Kelvin to do, integrate him into the main story, and give him his own epilogue/ending if you keep him alive,” said Endnight Games.

Endnight was also very pleased that the community had taken Kelvin in so quickly, and the team knew early on they had something special on their hands. “

Kelvin is just a small part of Sons of the Forest, and you can check out a full preview of the game. Developing a realism and flexible ecosystem, and it feels like the building blocks are there to create something truly special. It’s the addition of sophisticated and smarter AI enemies and allies., but the survival game genre as a whole. ”
