The Witcher 3 Gets PC Hotfix to Address Next-Gen Update’s Stability Issues

CD Projekt Red has released a hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, addressing issues encountered with the release of the 4.0 next-gen update.
Quick patch notes for the game steam page The fix “should improve overall stability and performance,” and CD Projekt Red says they are “working to further improve the experience on all platforms.”
The patch notes aren’t any more specific, but PC users can expect massive framerate drops, texture and model rendering delays, and various other issues with the highly anticipated next-gen update arriving on December 14th. was reported.

CD Projekt Red Global Community Director Marcin Moot also shared the hotfix news on Twitter (above), revealing that Stem needs a 3GB update and GOG needs a 1.9GB update. Hotfixes also don’t count as numbered updates. This means that The Witcher 3 will remain at version 4.0 when installed.
