Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Improves Cooking With a New Pot, Recipe Cards, and More

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, cooking hearty, filling, and sometimes dubious meals was an integral part of survival. Sure, you could skip that feature entirely and eat 40 apples and her 1 bag of raw meat every time you’re low on health after a time fight, but you can combine the right ingredients to increase your health, Stamina, resistance to the elements was definitely a much smarter winning strategy.

Well, cooking is back in the upcoming sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with some really cool new improvements to go along with it.

Let’s start with the cookware itself. Breath of the Wild required finding a cooking pot, usually in a village, stable, or similar communal place, to actually combine ingredients, craft recipes, and create meals. You can also start a fire anywhere and roughly toss individual edible items over it to make things like cooked apples or hard-boiled eggs, but they can be made by combining two to five things in a pot. Didn’t give Link nearly the same boost as cooking.Specific recipes.

Tears of the Kingdom avoids the need to travel to a specific location to cook by offering a Crockpot Zonai device that can effectively cook almost anywhere in the world, or at least anywhere there’s a flat surface . Zonai devices are depletable resources that can be manipulated by Link’s new powers such as Fuse and Ultrahand, so if you want to start cooking while you’re above the clouds or hanging out over the mountains of Hyrule.

In any case, it’s pretty nice to be able to cook a lot of hearty meals before a big fight anywhere rather than quickly traveling to a specific location. . Remember that the pot can only be used once and will break after cooking a single meal. Try the spicy pepper steak. you earned it

Additionally, the Tears of the Kingdom submenu has a Recipe Database, which displays a list of recipes. This includes the items needed to craft the recipe, what kind of stat and health boosts the link gives, and a picture of what the finished dish looks like. Think of it like the recipe cards that come with meal prep kits like Blue Apron and Home Chef. Cooking a recipe for the first time seems to unlock that recipe in the rest of your play records.

You have to manually stack items in Link’s hand and then manually drop them into the cooking pot. Digging up your own memory.
