Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Seemingly Includes a Classic Ocarina of Time Enemy

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s latest trailer gave fans plenty of exciting new things to do, but it also seemed to show off classic enemies from N64’s Ocarina of Time.

The infamous ReDead monster can be seen sandwiched between Lizalphos and what appears to be a giant Bokoblin in the gameplay trailer shared during the Nintendo Direct on February 8th.

The trailer only showed ReDead for a few seconds, but those familiar with previous Zelda games will appreciate how it fits into a darker version of Hyrule.

ReDead appears to be seen in this snippet from the latest Tears of the Kingdom trailer.

They also appeared in Majora’s Mask and The Wind Waker, but ReDeads are arguably best known for Ocarina of Time. There, you’ll haunt Castle Town’s abandoned market following a time jump.

Appearing as zombie-like creatures wearing spooky wooden masks, the ReDeads let out terrifying screams that paralyze Link before sneaking up and attacking.

ReDeads’ appearance has changed slightly over the years to match each game’s art style, but its attack behavior remains the same. That means Tears of the Kingdom players will likely have to face one of the Zelda series’ most fearsome foes once and for all. again.

ReDead is just one of several surprise features in Tears of the Kingdom’s new trailer, but IGN covers a list of the more interesting stuff here. Editions, new Amiibo, and much more about the Breath of the Wild sequel.
