No Plans for a Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake Just Yet, Capcom Says

The Resident Evil series has undergone a massive renaissance (or how about a revival?) in the last few years, with multiple new mainline entries and remakes.

With 2, 3 and 4 modern remakes of the books, some RE fans are hoping for a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake. However, according to Capcom, there are currently no plans to remake the 2000 Dreamcast titles.

Code Veronica was first released on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000. It was later ported to PlayStation 2 and GameCube, and saw an HD release on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The game follows Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2 and Chris Redfield from the original Resident Evil. We were fans of the game in our initial review, but each subsequent remaster evoked its aging elements, making the game an excellent candidate for a remake from the ground up.

Capcom’s era of modern remakes began with the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2, and 2020’s Resident Evil 3 followed shortly after. Both games received great scores in reviews. Resident Evil 4 is set to launch on March 24th on his PS5, PS4, Xbox series and PC.
