ViewSonic’s $1,600 X2-4K the First Projector ‘Designed for Xbox’

Viewsonic announced X2-4K LED Projector Designed for Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S consoles, it launches in the US next month for $1,599.99.

The X2-4K is a short-throw projector with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, capable of showing displays up to 100 inches when placed approximately 5 feet from a wall. It has two HDMI ports. Unfortunately the HDMI port is 2.0 instead of 2.1. This means that if you want to play an Xbox game in his 4K resolution, your framerate will cap at 60 Hz. In contrast, to play compatible games at a 120Hz refresh rate, you’ll need to adjust your resolution to 1440p.

Most projectors will work with the Xbox Series X/S, but ViewSonic touts their projectors as being designed and compatible with the 9th generation Xbox home console, stating that they “are considered true gaming projectors.” It was developed by ViewSonic further added that the X2-4K has been “designated as the world’s first ‘designed for Xbox’ certified projector after 63 tests conducted by Team Xbox to ensure ultimate console compatibility.” said.
