“I’ve never really talked about this before, so I don’t know if I should talk about it now, but [Like a Dragon] I was really, really inspired by One Piece,” Yokoyama said. “For me, number one is basically Luffy. In retrospect, Like a Dragon makes sense because it was a light take on the Yakuza series featuring a main character who, like Luffy in One Piece, could switch between badass and goofball.
